About the project
Orange Polska
faced an ambitious challenge: to move a digital robot used in advertising campaigns into the real world. The whole process involved not only building it, but also giving it the ability to move and talk to customers.
Besides providing information, the robot is able to present the services and products available in the current offer. The project itself required the use of artificial intelligence, which enabled facial recognition and natural language processing, among other things..
Challenges
What did we deal with?
Technology challenges:
- Electronic systems – protection.
- Mechanics – structural examination and testing.
- Body – keeping a reflection of the client’s expectations, consistency and resilience.
- Programming part – video and sentiment analysis, i.e. making the best use of computing power in relation to energy resources (batteries).
Use of technology:
- Object location - the robot is able to precisely map the location of various objects, allowing it to effectively present products to customers.
- Analysis of object characteristics - the robot has the ability to analyse age, gender or even emotions, leading to a better understanding of customers' needs.
- Speech-to-text conversion - ensuring smooth conversation through speech as well as text guarantees flexibility and convenience of communication.
- Customised customer needs - we can customise it and integrate it with documents and brand systems.
- Sentiment analysis - with this feature, the robot is able to rate customers' moods and adjust its response, leading to a better understanding of their needs.
Expertise
How can we help?
Used technologies
- ROS (topic, actions),
- Python,
- rViz,
- SQLite,
- mechanika.
Mobility and power supply
We built an interactive map that allows the robot to navigate precisely in different environments. What's more, it runs on a battery so it can run for up to eight hours without needing to be recharged.
Neural networks and image analysis
We have created separate models for different languages so that the robot can communicate in different languagesIn addition, the introduction of image analysis with the ZED2 camera allows it to recognise objects and interpret the surrounding environment.
Team

Business benefits
How did we support the client?
The proposed tool is just a small part of what it can be used for. It will work well in all industries oriented towards automation and new technologies to help simplify processes and relieve some of the workload of human resources.
In order to improve sales in stationary stores, it is necessary to focus on improving customer service and the overall shopping experience. Shops can achieve this with a robot that provides instant service in the customer's preferred form and chosen language. In addition, it creates the employer's image in the market as an innovative Hi-Tech entrepreneur who follows trends and tends to continuously improve its processes and solutions offered.
